Shalita was born August 28, 1988 in Baltimore, Maryland. Her by far most famous role is an agent Sonja Percy on criminal TV series NCIS: New Orleans. Her other appearances were on Bones, Mercy Street, and Melissa & Joey. Grant studied at prestigious Julliard School. She received scholarship and pursued her B.F.A. degree in Drama there. Shalita graduated in 2010. Her career is slowly rising ever since.

A few years after I graduated, I was doing a play in Boston and was asked to audition for Christophe Durang’s play, ‘Vonya and Sonia and Masha and Spike,’ and I got the part.
